Hello Sixty
Mrs. Cedar Valley 2019

My Story

I created Hello Sixty, thinking about everyone who feels that they cannot do anything else when we age. We often hear, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” and I disagree with this. Why? Because regardless of our age, we are capable of doing something new and thrive in our new environments. I’m new to all of these new gadgets and apps that younger generations are using. But I accept it as a challenge. I started doing beyond my comfort zone, and it gets me excited. And that makes me feel livelier than ever. I can do it, so do you.

Our objective at Hello Sixty is to help us not only live but be active and thrive.

We face the same “hellos” or realizations in life as we age. Here, at Hello Sixty, we take action to the next level. We want to learn and experience new things.

Because we believe that a late bloom is still a “bloom”.

Statics show that if we lived to age 60, we have a good chance of making it to 80.

And knowing this fact, we have the power to get out of the box and live more.

This goes hand in hand with our goal in Hello Sixty. We aim to help people to navigate through what we’ve got and help them understand their options.

LED Brighter Communities

When I co-founded LED Brighter Communities (LEDbc), a nonprofit organization, our goal is to encourage youth leaders, municipal leaders, business owners, and even the residents to switch their lighting technology to LED. Why LED? The first reason is because of energy consumption. LED light bulbs consume up to 90% less electricity (7 watts vs. 60 watts) to produce the same or even more light.
